Love a good steak? Then you need to go to Rockhampton - they have the best ones in Australia. Officially in northern Queensland it's starting to get hot on this road-trip.
Having got stuck in Noosa for a few extra days than I planned I made up the lost time by doing an 8 hour drive up the coast - rocking out to the best of Queen and smashing a couple of RedBulls to get me through it. Sadly I had to skip a few of my planned stops along the way, most regrettably including Fraser Island
In Rockhampton I had the pleasure of staying with our road trip sponsor Discovery Parks who have caravan parks and cabin accommodation all across Australia. We had a free BBQ and prize giveaway for their guests that went quite well - much more chilled out vibes than the Base party! I really enjoy talking to older travellers, they travel slowly and really take their in enjoying the journey.
In the morning I went to check out the Rockhampton Zoo which is fantastic free activity to the town. They are home to a great variety of Australian wildlife including Kangaroos, Emus, Dingos, Wombats, Koalas and Crocodiles. Next door they have some beautiful Botannical Gardens where I came across 3 of the zookeepers taking the Dingo inhabitants for their daily walk. I had no idea Dingos get taken for walks - but it makes sense.
